El Paraíso sits high above Bogotá’s city center. It’s a neighborhood where people work hard every day just to take care of their families—putting food on the table, sending their kids to school, and making ends meet. For a long time, getting to work meant spending hours stuck in traffic, especially for those with jobs in the north or center of the city. That changed when the city built a cable car. Now, what used to be a two-hour commute takes just 20 minutes—and the ride comes with some pretty amazing views.
You’ll meet your English-speaking guide at Portal Tunal, where the tour begins. From there, you’ll hop on the cable car and head up into the hills.
Along the way, you’ll get to:
- Take in incredible views of Bogotá from above
- Meet a local tour guide from Paraiso neighborhood
- Walk through El Paraíso and hear real stories from the people who live there
- See colorful street art and graffiti that reflect the community’s voice
- Meet locals, learn about their lives, and share a few laughs
- Enjoy a homemade lunch at local restaurant (10.000 lunch price)
